Engineers and designers working to meet the deadline for the release date for the 2019 Ram 1500 have radically overhauled the full-size pickup truck. The change in the metal alloy used to build the foundation of the 2019 Ram will improve handling as well as durability.

Improved Fuel Efficiency

One of the most impressive upgrades made to the 2019 Ram 1500 is in the new truck’s vastly improved fuel economy scores. The automaker has added its eTorque mild hybrid system on the truck’s 3.6-liter, V-6 as well as the legendary 5.7-liter, HEMI® V-8 engines. No other truck manufacturer has as many powertrains using mild hybrid technology. In addition to giving short boosts in torque output, the eTorque system also allows the engines to have start/stop functionality to prevent fuel from being consumed unnecessarily.

New Technology

The 2019 Ram 1500 is available with the latest version of the Ram Uconnect infotainment system. Depending on trim, the system will be controlled by either an 8.4- or 12-inch touchscreen. Additionally, future owners who use Android- and Apple-based smartphones will be able to use most of their favorite apps while they’re on the road with the truck’s built-in device integration capability. Finally, Ram engineers have included new multifunction USB ports and have made an optional wireless charging pad available.
