Updated powertrain options<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For the new model year, certain trim grades of the 2019 Jeep Renegade will be powered by an all-new engine and transmission combination. A turbocharged, 1.3-liter, four-cylinder engine, mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The 177 horsepower and 200 pound-feet of torque will be standard on Limited and Trailhawk trims and be optional choices for Sport and Latitude versions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s still a bit early in the lifecycle of the 2019 Renegade for its Environmental Protection Agency fuel economy scores to be available, but we\u2019ve been told to expect big things. Not only will the low-displacement engine be naturally efficient, Jeep has also outfitted the new power plant engine stop-start technology. Future 2019 Jeep Renegade owners will be able to prevent fuel from being burned unnecessarily during slow-moving, stop-and-go traffic conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, Jeep has also made active grille shutters standard across most of the crossover SUV\u2019s trim grades, save for the Trailhawk. When these shutters close, air is redirected under the vehicle which makes it more aerodynamic, another element that helps to boost fuel efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New technology<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

No crossover SUV can compete in today\u2019s marketplace without offering smartphone integration with its infotainment system<\/a>. The 2019 Jeep Renegade comes with the ability to connect Android and Apple devices to its native infotainment equipment. Also being introduced for the 2019 model year is what Jeep is calling its Advanced Tech Group. It will include adaptive cruise control and parking aids for both parallel and perpendicular parking assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
