GMC has not made any changes to the available powertrains for the 2018 GMC Sierra. The full-size pickup is still using a 4.3-liter, V-6 engine as standard equipment and offers two V-8 options on upper trims. At the top-of-the-line the 6.2-liter, V-8 makes up to 420 horsepower. . 

Towing

Towing capacity has always been a major strength for the GMC Sierra. That trend easily continues of the 2018 model. Regular cab versions have top-end towing rating of 9,800 pounds. Switching to a properly-equipped crew or double cab model allows for 12,500 pounds of towing.  

Technology

The automaker has also continued its commitment to technology by offering smartphone integration on every trim grade of the 2018 GMC Sierra. Applications from Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can be used with the GMC IntelliLink system. A high-speed Wi-Fi hotspot is also available. .
