GMC has not made any changes to the available powertrains for the 2018 GMC Sierra. The full-size pickup is still using a 4.3-liter, V-6 engine as standard equipment and offers two V-8 options on upper trims. At the top-of-the-line the 6.2-liter, V-8 makes up to 420 horsepower. . 

Towing

Towing capacity has always been a major strength for the GMC Sierra. That trend easily continues of the 2018 model. Regular cab versions have top-end towing rating of 9,800 pounds. Switching to a properly-equipped crew or double cab model allows for 12,500 pounds of towing.  

Technology
