Initially, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler will offer two power plant options, a turbocharged, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder making 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque as well as a 3.6-liter, Pentastar V-6 with a peak power output of 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. A turbocharged diesel engine will be available in 2019.
The 2018 Wrangler will continue to be offered in several different trim grades. In the new model year, each one of them will have the coveted "Trail Rated" badge. In addition to being available with one of two four-wheel-drive systems, the new Wrangler can ford up to 30 inches of water and has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds.
Being able to combine the capabilities of an Jeep owner's smartphone with the automaker's latest technology is seen in other Jeep models. Now the Wrangler has three touchscreen interfaces available for the Uconnect infotainment system and will be compatible with Android- and Apple-based smartphones.
