Billion Auto Group customers will be able to choose among several different engine options for the 2019 Jeep Cherokee. All of them can offer more power than any competing powertrain used by the 2019 Ford Escape. The standard engine for the new Cherokee is a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine making 180 horsepower and 171 pound-feet of torque. Buyers can also choose trims with a 3.2-liter, V-6 or a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, producing 271 horsepower and 270 horsepower, respectively. All of the power plants will be paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
By comparison, the standard powertrain setup for the 2019 Ford Escape is a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine making 168 horsepower. Ford also makes a couple of turbocharged engines available for the 2019 Escape, none of which match the output of the 2019 Jeep Cherokee.
