The 2019 Ram 1500 comes with two basic engine options. Buyers choosing the 3.6-liter, V-6 will have the eTorque system as standard equipment and can expect to have 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque to use. The standard 5.7-liter HEMI® will make nearly 400 horsepower and more than 400 pound-feet of torque.
Entry-level models of the 2019 Ram 1500, outfitted with the 3.6-liter, V-6 engine will be able to pull loads up to 6,710 pounds – when properly equipped. Those numbers climb quickly with versions of the truck with the V-8. At the top-end, the 2019 Ram 1500 has a maximum towing capacity of 12,750 pounds.
Overall, the 2019 Ram 1500 is expected to be able to achieve vastly improved fuel economy scores over its previous models. Final figures are not available yet for the V-6-equipped models, but the HEMI® engine will be able to get 15 miles per gallon in the city and 22 miles per gallon on the highway.
