Depending on which trim grade of the 2020 GMC Sierra 2500HD a customer chooses, they will have one of two available power plants equipped. The standard set up is a 6.6-liter, V-8 engine attached to a six-speed automatic transmission, making 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. A turbocharged diesel engine is also an option, which is mated to a specialized 10-speed automatic. It will make 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque.
GMC has added several new features to make towing trailers with the 2020 GMC Sierra 2500HD easier and safer. Among the most important is the enhanced ProGrade Trailering system that offers a class-leading 15 different exterior camera views, including one that allows a driver to virtually see-through the trailer. GMC has partnered with a company that specializes in towing technology to develop a new app to expand the truck’s capability.
