Which color of car gets pulled over the most?

White vehicles actually get stopped most often, statistically. Red comes in second place, with gray and silver occupying third and fourth place, respectively. There are a few reasons why the data looks the way it does. First, white is actually the most popular vehicle color, which means that there are going to be more of them on the road. Additionally, the actual model of the vehicle could actually be more telling when examining this data.

The vehicles that rack up the most speeding tickets all have one thing in common, performance. Each of these models will fall somewhere on the sports car spectrum. Typically, these vehicles come with larger engines and more engaging handling than other models. This is exactly why insurance and safety experts warn against teenage drivers from having high-performance vehicles. Even drivers who should know better can resist the urge to mash on the gas pedal.

On the other end of the scale, there is one thing that all of the least pulled over vehicle have in common. Minivans, full-size SUVs and large sedans all rank among the least likely to get stopped for speeding.

The common thread appears to be that these platforms all tend to be closely associated with families. However, if some is exceeding the speed limit or otherwise driving in a dangerous manner, it won’t matter what model is doing the offending in the eyes of the law.
