Top 3 Bad Driving Habits That Can Cause Damage

  1. Ignoring dashboard warning lights. While it may be very easy to ignore those annoying warning lights that stay on or keep flashing, not getting them checked out and fixing the problem can cause some serious and expensive damage if you wait too long.
  2. Riding your brakes when driving downhill. It’s easy to keep your foot on the brake and apply a little pressure to keep your car traveling at a safe speed when driving down a steep slope, but this can cause damage to your brake system. The constant braking can build up heat and damage brake components like rotors and brake pads.
  3. Revving your engine in cold weather. Allow your engine to warm up properly and thoroughly before you rev its engine. Reving it too soon can cause damage to engine parts that have not been lubricated by engine oil yet.
