New Changes for the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder

The Nissan Pathfinder is one of the most popular crossover SUVs on the automaker’s roster. The upcoming model year will feature a Pathfinder with a larger passenger cabin that is more comfortable for people and easier to load with cargo. When the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder goes on sale later this summer, it will be the first in the model’s lineage to offer seating for up to eight passengers. “We closely analyzed every angle to make this vehicle as versatile as possible, while also delivering on rugged capability,” Jared Haslam, vice president, Product and Services Planning, Nissan U.S. and Canada, said in a press release. “Our goal was to turn Pathfinder into a multi-tool on wheels – making this the go-to SUV for hard-working, adventurous families.”

How much interior space is in the 2022 Pathfinder?

If someone were to see a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder stand next to a 2021 model, the former’s increase in size over the latter might be pretty clear. Nissan engineers have managed to increase the overall interior volume of the 2022 Pathfinder by 10.6 cubic-feet, to a maximum of 164.6 cubic-feet. This will result in several passenger-friendly innovations, including:

• Seating for up to eight passengers
• Accommodating three car seats in the second row and two car seats in the third row
• Available second-row captain’s chairs, another Pathfinder first
• Removable second-row console

For too long, the third row of seats in crossover SUVs has been hard to access and has largely remained the domain of children. The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder has second-row seats that can tilt forward, on both sides of the vehicle, to make it easier to get in and out of the third row. Additionally, this feature even works when there are car seats installed.
