What is the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk?

The new 2018 model year coming to Billion Auto Group marks the 25th anniversary for the Jeep Grand Cherokee. In that time, not only has the model become one of the most well-respected and desirable crossover SUVs, but now the automaker has turned it into a legitimate racing vehicle with the introduction of the Trackhawk version. The headline at the top of the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk story is that this is going to be the most powerful and fastest version of the crossover SUV ever built – by a large margin. The new 2018 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk should be arriving at the Billion Auto Group showroom in the very near future.

2018 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk performance specs

It’s not much of a secret that Jeep and Dodge share the same parent company. While the former has become famous for building rugged and/or luxury SUVs, the latter is one of the most historically important manufacturers of high-performance muscle cars. The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk blends both of those worlds together.

The Trackhawk has a 700 horsepower engine
Towing capacity should be about 7,400 pounds for the trackhawk
The latest connectivity technology is standard in the trackhawk

Under the hood of the new Trackhawk trim, Jeep is using a supercharged, 6.2-liter, V-8 engine attached to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The new powertrain will produce 707 horsepower and 645 pound-feet of torque. In practical terms, this means that the newest member of the Jeep Grand Cherokee family can accelerate from zero-to-60 mph in 3.5 seconds and run the quarter-mile in 11.6 seconds, hitting a top speed of 180 miles per hour. The new Trackhawk should have a peak towing capacity near the top of the vehicle’s range, which is currently measured at 7,400 pounds.

Upgraded technology

In addition to gobs of power being standard with the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, it’s also going to be one of the smartest kids in class. Jeep has upgraded the Uconnect infotainment system of the new version so it is now compatible with applications from the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto suites of applications.
