Is Nissan going to bring back the Juke?

In the last 15 years or so, Nissan has produced some of the most unique and instantly recognizable models in the automotive industry. Among those platforms, the Nissan Juke stands out in several ways. The Nissan Juke was pretty polarizing. Customers either loved it or didn’t want anything to do with it. Its place on the automaker’s roster seemed to be taken by the recently introduced Nissan Kicks. Even though the new Kicks has a lot to offer, there is hardly a week that goes by where a visitor to the dealership doesn’t ask, ‘Is Nissan going to bring back the Juke?’ A story we stumbled across on the internet seems to believe that the unique Nissan vehicle could be making a triumphant return.

Autoblog.com reporter, Jonathon Ramsey published a cryptically framed photo that appears to show the headlight assembly of a vehicle. Ramsey goes on to say that Nissan could be introducing a new generation of the Juke on Sept. 3.

His article is lean on details, but that isn’t his fault. Automotive manufacturers are notorious for being tight-lipped when they are trying to make a splash in a particular vehicle segment.

Ramsey’s story said that the new Juke is going to hold on to its recognizable silhouette while also featuring design language that is used with other Nissan vehicles, like the automaker’s V-motion grille.

In addition to standardizing the new Juke’s exterior, a potentially new model will also likely have a longer wheelbase that will translate into more generous interior passenger space. Ramsey also believes that the driver’s cockpit will be made up of largely digitized displays.

It isn’t immediately clear what kind of powertrain equipment will be under the hood of an all-new Nissan Juke. Available evidence points to the new subcompact crossover SUV being powered by a small, efficient but powerful four-cylinder engine.

Ramsey thinks it will produce about 200 horsepower, if not more.
