2019 Buick Enclave vs. 2018 Honda CR-V

One of the messages being sent to buyers regarding the current lineup of Buick crossover SUVs available at Billion Auto Group is that compromise is a thing of the past. Models like the Buick Enclave build upon more than 100 years of premium vehicle design by offering impressive performance specs, available technology and interior flexibility that simply cannot be matched by the competition. Take a look at the comparison between the 2019 Buick Enclave vs. 2018 Honda CR-V for the clearest illustration possible of these ideas. The new Buick Enclave is able to outpace the current Honda CR-V in just about every commonly-used metric used by potential buyers to evaluate a future vehicle purchase.

In order for crossover SUVs like the 2019 Buick Enclave or 2018 Honda CR-V to be successful, they must check off a lot of boxes. In all fairness to the current CR-V, it does a lot of things well. It just doesn’t do them as well as the 2019 Buick Enclave. The primary difference between the two vehicles is that the 2019 Enclave has three rows of seats which can accommodate as many as seven passengers. At best, the 2018 Honda CR-V can fit up to five passengers in its cabin. An owner of the 2019 Enclave will be able to have up to 97.6 cubic-feet of cargo volume to use when they fold the vehicle’s seats away. This very easily eclipses the maximum of 75.8 cubic-feet that comes with the 2018 CR-V.

Performance Specs

When it comes to overall performance, the 2019 Buick Enclave simply blows the 2018 Honda CR-V out of the water. All trims of the 2019 Enclave available for sale or lease at Billion Auto Group use a 3.6-liter, V-6 engine attached to a nine-speed automatic transmission, making 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. Honda has discontinued production of the CR-V with a V-6 engine, opting instead to offer two four-cylinder engine options, one is naturally aspirated making 184 horsepower and the other is turbocharged and makes 190 horsepower. Finally, the 2019 Buick Enclave can tow up to 5,000 pounds with the 2018 CR-V offering a maximum towing capacity of just 1,500 pounds.
